Who's minding the store?

We are living in a new world. The US and the other industrialized countries of the world are slipping into socialism, if not there already. Treasuries are straining to keep up with ballooning budgets, loaded with bloated entitlement policies and bail-outs. To pay the tab, our elected official’s cowardly turn to printing new money rather than solving the problem. Inflating the dollar hurts the consumer and devalues the currency. The US government is out of control. They/We now own or control the banks bail-out ($200B), mortgage lenders FNMA/FREDDIE-MAC ($150B+), insurance$180B+, automobile industry ($70B+ and soon the health care industry ($1 trillion). All purchased with IOU's. Is anyone comfortable with a government controlled business, such as AMtrack and the Post Office? They both lose money every year, so will all the new acquisitions despite what the Congressional cheerleader’s state. They will never pay back the bail-out funds but will come back for more, and get it every year.

Take GM, too big to fail so what does Congress agree to, a structured BK. What a bunch of crap. That structured BK screwed every investors (that's you and me and every one's 401k) and sub contractors/suppliers which laid off their employees (many non-union) which in turn were forced to file BK. Who was saved? Of course, the UAW (Obama supporters), which is now the Governments business partner. I can't think of any one less qualified to run a successful business than the Gov't and the UAW? We will be subsidizing GM for years to come because of the idiots at the wheel. Remember AMTrack was also supposed to be a temporary ownership 35 years ago. We are still paying for that mistake.

Just my opinion.
